The Adult Literacy Program works with adults 18 years-of-age and older to provide free one-on-one tutoring in basic literacy. The program provides a free 6-hour training over two nights to teach volunteer tutors how to work with adults who wish to improve their reading skills.
Read To Succeed. One-on-one tutoring Learners are paired with tutors trained in working with adult learners. They are also provided with all literacy materials necessary to achieve their goals. English as a Second Language Classes Free classes are provided for adults seeking to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities. Read To Succeed is in immediate need of ESL (English Second Language) Tutors for our Adult Literacy Program. ESL classes are held 1-2 times a week for 1-2 hours at various community partner locations throughout Murfreesboro, Smyrna and LaVergne. Tutors must undergo a 6 hour training course before they can lead or co-lead a class.
